Hello! My name is Edna Costas and I am the High school religion, math and student
government teacher here at Trinity Lutheran School.
It has been a fun year and we are THRILLED with all the new things happening in TLS.
This year has been one of much learning and adaptation for me and the students and before we
end I will love to share with you a little bit about myself.
I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, I lived there until I was 17 years old. When I finished HS I
moved to Florida and attended Valencia Community college and later transferred to Ana G.
Mendez University where in 2010 I graduated top of my class with a Masters in Criminal Justice
and a minor in Public Affairs.
While attending college I worked as an ESOL and ESE paraprofessional. I also worked as the
Behavior Coordinator for Cypress HS in Orange County Public Schools until 2015. I was also a
college professor at Florida Technical College where I had the amazing opportunity to teach
Ethics and law courses to students aspiring to earn a bachelor’s degree.
I also work to mentor youth and leaders at a local church and for over 8 years I was the
Administrative Pastor of a local church here in the beautiful city of Kissimmee.
I recently became involved with the International Chaplains Association and am working on
obtaining my doctoral degree.
I am looking forward to great opportunities and experiences here at TLS. My experience,
knowledge, education and experience with teachers, students and as an administrator has
given me the confidence and motivation to bring ideas and skills to this wonderful school.
I look forward to getting to know every student and every parent in the years to come, and
continue to make this place and our city a better place to be for our future generations.
Ms. Edna Costas
